The purpose of this assignment is (1) to highlight and learn from two change agents and (2) to identify and discuss your impact as a change agent. In this 46
page paper, you will present the life and contributions of two change agents (social activists and/or macro practitioners) that you admire. Include a minimum of six outside sources.
1. Discuss your two change agents. One can be historic; one must be contemporary. A list of contemporary change agents is listed. For both individuals, include:
a. a brief biography (1 point each, total of 2 points)
b. an overview of the community problems/social issues addressed by the person (1.5
points each, total of 3 points)
c. a discussion of the person’s lasting contributions to communities and/or the field of social work.
2. Discuss your leadership style, as informed by your own insights and by the Strengths Assessment.
3. Discuss the community problems/social issues (a minimum of two) you are most passionate about and why.
4. Discuss what you have learned from the two people you selected and highlight what you would like your lasting contributions as a change agent to be. Discuss how social work values as defined by the Code of Ethics will support you in your change agent work with diverse groups.
5. Demonstrate your ability to clearly communicate ideas; follow the format, including length; and avoid grammatical, spelling, and APA errors.
