For my course project, I have selected Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD Excessive hyperactive, inattentive, and impulsive children have been described in the literature since the nineteenth century. The distinguishing features of adolescents with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are excessive motor activity, inattention, and impulsiveness.Several authors list the charities of ADHD over the last 200 years, but only in recent history has it been characterized as what we now know as ADHD(The History of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, 2010). Some of the most general symptoms of ADHD are inattention, lack of focus, poortime management, weak impulse control, exaggerated emotions, hyper-focus, hyperactivity, and executive dysfunction. Still, noteveryone has all of these traits. ADHD can be broken down into three sub-categories, Primarily hyperactive-impulsive type, Primarily inattentive type (formerly calledADD), Primarily combined type(ADDitude Editors & Dodson, 2021).
Being recently diagnosed with ADHD, I find it fascinating that not everyone’s brains work similarly. I am interested in acquiring more knowledge on this disability. I would like to know why it is so underdiagnosed in females and spread knowledge to others about the signs and symptoms. What kinds of medications are available, and how easy are they to access? Additionally, I would like to learn ways to cope better and treatment strategies for ADHD. References ADDitude Editors, & Dodson, W. (2021, March 18). What Is ADHD? Meaning, Symptoms & Tests.
