and

 

b. Getting past No (Ury William, Getting Past No—Negotiating in Difficult Situations, (New York: Bantam Books), 1991, pp. 190.)

to address the following historical conflict:

 

2. You are at the gates of Troy and you represent the forces of Agamemnon, the brother of Menaleus, the original husband of Helen of Troy who was kidnapped by Paris, the son of Priam, King of Troy. The forces of Odysseus have just constructed the Trojan horse and there is confidence that the Greeks will be able to enter Tory and eventually overthrow Priam.

 

3. Based on the readings of Getting to Yes and Getting past No, what advice or analysis of the situation would you give to one of the following characters: Helen, Menelaus, Priam, Agammenon, Achilles, Odysseus or the forces of Troy or the opposing forces of Achaea (the Greeks).

 

4. Choose one of these personalities or one of the two warring factions and try to apply the readings of Getting past No or Getting to Yes to give advise.

 

5. Discuss your thoughts in 250 – 350 words.
