3-Minute Oral Testimony
Using the problem and policy researched for your first two assignments, and the key points identified for your advocacy letter, please prepare an approximately three
minute oral testimony to share with the class during one of our last class sessions. This part of the assignment has the dual purpose of educating your classmates
about new social welfare polices on substance abuse among the homeless in bernallio county.

The testimony needs to include
Clear statement of the issue that the policy addresses
Key data documenting the trend related to this issue and the size of the population impacted. This data should document the need for policy action.
Summary of current policy/program, and it’s strengths or weaknesses
Clear policy recommendation with brief explanation maintain change, discontinue or replace a current policy or legislate a new policy.

Handout
prepare a single page handout which can be used to inform the lawmakers and the voting public, in order to shape the political agenda. The handout should clearly, and
in as few words as possible
