Order Description
1) Read this sections of the prescribed text;

2) Using the information read from the prescribed text, write a report explaining to a lay person (eg. in simplified language so that someone without nutritional knowledge can understand) how this food substance is digested and absorbed and what factors may impact on these processes.
Ensure you include one or more analogies in your explanation that people can visualise as an aid. Using analogies can be very useful to simplify complex physiological processes. For instance, if explaining the action of insulin in Type I diabetes in layman terms, you may explain that insulin works like a key to a door. Insulin can open the doors to the cells of our body and when the doors swing open, the sugar in our bloodstream can enter our cells and our body uses the sugar for energy.
Notes: You must still keep enough ‘scientific information’ (in lay terms) in your report to describe these processes.
This report should be about 500 words maximum.
