Both Cubism and Futurism used fragmentation as an artistic strategy. While the
resulting artworks may look similar, the artists’ underlying priorities were often very
different. After reading Marinetti’s “Manifesto of Futurism’ and the essays on Cubism,
complete a 300-word response that does the following:

1 – Based on your readings, what do the Cubists and the Futurists each care about the
most? In what ways are their artistic and political interests similar or different?

2 – Refer to at least one Cubist and one Futurist statement to help make your point.
Use the quoting guidelines. Practice putting in Chicago footnote numbers even if they
don‘t lead anywhere.

TOTAL word count of your response should be 300-350 words. This means no less
than 300!
