nationalism transformed the political map of Europe from the French Revolution to Franco-Prussian War. Explore the revolutions they inspired (Remember that both
desires for constitutions with guaranteed natural rights and voting privileges, and nationalist desires of many ethnic groups cultivated revolutions) and then the
unification of Italy and that of Germany were built on nationalist sentiment. Looking through this lens, would you say modernity was threatening or promising?
