Write my Paper on Issue Analysis

Issue Analysis

Select the Readings Select any two articles from the New York Times, Washington
Post, or The Atlantic, that in some way describes some aspect of what you have
determined to be a social problem (i.e-, “troubling condition”). There are no “right” or
“wrong” articles, but for this assignment, students are required to select articles
published after January 1st, 2017. Unlimited access to The Atlantic is free, but the New
York Times has a paywall (after 10 articles) and the Washington Post requires
registration, but then gives free access. For the New York Times, students should
obtain a student “digital subscription” for the duration of the semester.

Once the two articles have been identified, on a separate piece of paper (type-written),
clearly identify the following: A)- The exact title and author for each of the two readings.
B). The specific social problem or issue described in the article, as best as you can
describe it- C)- At least one concept or theory drawn from course readings that you
intend (at least tentatively) to use in your analysis. On the day readings are due, after
an in-class assessment of each student’s selected articles, we will identify ONE of the
two readings for each student- That article will then serve as the basis for that
student’s analysis paper.

For Part C (Course Readings):

Joel Best, Chapter 1: “The Social Problems Process” – 2017 Social Problems (2nd
Edition)

Sebastian Junger, “The Men and the Dogs” – 2016 Tribe: On Homecoming and
Belonging

Joel Best, Chapter 2: “Claims”

John D. Carl, Chapter 17: “Globalization and Inequality” – 2012 – Think Social Problems
