Central Question Essay #1: (3 pages): (1940-1960)
Was the bracero program an exploitation of or opportunity for Mexican laborers?(Be sure to discuss the guarantees, working/living conditions, and Cold War/Red Scare0.

Central Question Essay # 2: (3 pages): (1960-present)
Was the Chicano Movement successful? How do you know? What were some of the strategies/efforts used to subvert/extinguish the Chicano Movement? What were some of the
gains/victories (culturally, artistically, politically, socially, educationally)?

Formatting (Essay 1 & 2):
– Central Question typed at the begging of each essay single spaced.
– 1″ margins all around
– Double-spaced
– printed in 12-point Times New Roman
– Number on all Pages (1-6 continuing number for both essays), but make sure essay #2 begins in a new Page.
-proper citations for all quotes/ideas from resources.
– a clear thesis, response to questions and supporting evidence/examples from the readings.
