Process Essay

Purpose: To help you understand and explain a process. Process The process paper relates and explains a process. The type of essay generally consists of three steps:
1) the introduction, which identifies the process and explains under what circumstances it is performed; 2) the body, which illustrates the process and its various
steps or stages; and finally 3) the conclusion, which reinforces the thesis and summarizes Remember to carefully think out each sequence of events, and develop you
essay in a logical manner. Procedure: You may pick and describe any process you wish. Some examples are: How to play … a sport, musical instrument, or game. How to
cook something How to buy a car How to use social media Your choice Evaluation: Using a story to explain the process will keep your essay from being too dry and too
much like a list of steps. This is your 2nd paper, so again, a key concern will be with the organization your essay. However, because the topic of the paper will
determine its meaning, I will be looking at grammar a bit more closely. Avoid using “you” and vague pronouns such as “this” and “it.” Keep you language academic, not
conversational. Your thesis should be clear and strong enough to generate a meaningful paper.
