doctrine of legal guilt. Explain the two reasons the American criminal justice system is a nonsystem. According to your text, in order for a crime to have been
committed, seven elements should be in place. What are these? Explain how each applies. Identify and explain the six defenses or excuses for legal responsibility
listed in your textbook. Hirschi named four characteristics of proper socialization and four reasons why delinquent behavior is likely to occur. Explain each of these.

response.) Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water. Jack pushed Jill down, she broke her arm, and Jack stole the water. Jill called the police on her
wet cell phone and signed a complaint against Jack, who the police subsequently arrested. Jack said he didn’t know what he was doing because he fell down once before
and suffered from reoccurring brain trauma. Is there a crime? What is it? Is there any defense? What could it be, and where will it likely be reported? Scenario #2 (Be
sure to use your textbook material in your response.) Martin was a member of a politically-radical group known as the Weathermen. This group was a branch of a student
society at school that advocated a radical means to overthrow the government. Martin met with a group of his friends in an empty apartment building and decided to make
some homemade pipe bombs to plant throughout the community. The plan included contact with a newspaper after the bombs were set off, identifying the group, and trying
to convince people that the current government positions in various parts of the world were wrong. The bombs would be a way to terrorize others and bring attention to
the Weathermen′s cause in hopes of changing international policies of promoting capitalism in the name of democracy. The plan failed when Martin and his group
accidentally blew themselves up. What crime theories could be applied to this scenario and explain how the facts apply?
