Once your thesis is approved, you will apply your approved topic/thesis for a first draft. For references, use at least five (5)
secondary materials found in the Hayden Library Online Databases (e.g., JSTOR, Academic Search Premier, etc.). You will want to
find items published in academic journals, eBooks and in hard copy books. Keep in mind that this paper is a “work-in-progress”
and allows you to measure scholarly arguments (and your own perspective as well).
Pick a writing style (e.g., MLA, APA or Chicago) and be consistent in use. There are online web links for simplifying these styles
along with books sold in most bookstores.
Your grade for this draft will be based on the following:

The quality of your research

The quality ofyour writing and composition

The competence, originality and insightfulness ofyour argument and approach
This draft should be 41-5 pages in length – no more (Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, double-spaced, one-inch margins). Citations
should be generously inserted in the draft and a bibliography (not annotated) included, though this does not count for the 41-5
text pages requirements.
