For this paper. the student will create a scientific paper comparing and contrasting the upper extremity with the lower extremity.
Included in this paper should be the skeletal anatomy – bones. shapes of bones. numbers of bones. how the bones of the upper
extremity are similar to the lower extremity as well as how they are different. There should be discussion about the boney
prominences. joints and ligamentous structures that stabilize each joint. range of motion. planes of movement and the muscular
anatomy that moves the joints and the extremities. Muscular anatomy should include numbers and size of muscles.
strength/power/stability/flne motor movements. etc. The nervous system must be examined as it pertains to each extremity – how
the brachial and lumbo-sacral plexi are similar and/or different…Similarly. the circulatory system must be examined as it pertains
to each extremig.
