Requirements
The basis of an argument is that it has two sides of an issue. The challenge you face as a writer of this paper is to show that you understand both sides of the subject so that you are in a good position to approach negotiation. Your role as the author of the paper is similar to the role of a mediator. The responsibility of a mediator includes being just. Hence, while able to speak his/her opinion, the mediator should also be conscious not to dominate the discussion with that opinion. You should strive to keep the balance of the argument fair making sure both sides are given voice to offset dominance of a particular argument.
Remember that writing a research paper involves familiarizing yourself with the works of experts in the field of a given subject (expressed in scholarly books, articles, or through interviews– refrain from using Internet sources) to build upon what you know about a subject, then comparing their thoughts on the topic, and eventually coming up with your own insightful conclusion. The final paper will be a unique and appropriate reflection on evidence you have located in your research, and a touch of insights generated from your own thought.
