Wearable technology devices are gadgets that can be worn by the customer and can be used for purposes of tracking health and fitness information or monitoring the location of the consumer. The devices often have tracking and motion detection software. Recently new innovations have emerged that use sim cards and can sync up with client’s mobile phones to transmits calls and take pictures (Bruno, n.d.). These devices are used to promote conveniences to the consumers as well as giving them access to information as soon as they need it. The adoption of wearable devices in the military and medical institutions have been major contributors to the adoption of this technology by private consumers (“The Future of Wearable Tech & Why You Need to Care – Blacks In Technology”, 2014).The ability to make work easier and lower costs in the private industry has also encouraged its endorsement and industry wide use by many corporations(Schüll, 2016). Although corporations, military and medical personnel have been using these devices for a while now; private citizens have only taken notice of these gadgets since 2014(Wright & Keith, 2014). The gadgets rapidly gained popularity for various uses for items such as smart glasses, smart watches, hearables, fitness and health trackers or even smart jewelry and smart fashion (Holland, n.d: (Rettberg, 2016).). An area that has benefited greatly is that of fitness where consumers have no longer have to rely on trainers or online tutorials instead they have wearable body suit(Rettberg, 2016)s.
