I’m studying and need help with a Environmental Science question to help me learn.
The use of our National Parks is a controversial topic. With 320 million Americans there have been many proposals about how to best use this vast amount of land. Many feel we should just leave it alone so as to have land left for future generations to see the historic grandeur of our country. Others feel that this land is wasted if we don’t make money from it. In December 2017 President Trump enacted the largest National Monument reduction in U.S. history. As recently as September 2019, the current administration issued environmental impact statements with the intent to drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR). And more recently, August 17, 2020, the Trump administration said it will open ANWR to drilling by auctioning off leases on the 1.6 million acre coastal plain. These controversial decisions exemplify the division in Americas’ thoughts on National land use. What do you think? Be sure to answer in paragraph form. Your original post should be at least 100 words and your replies are expected to be at least 3 to 5 sentences. Be sure to cite the source of your information.
