Abstract The project consists of a conceptual proposal of a 500 MW solar farm project to be installed in the
Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The consideration for the installation of a solar plant in the Eastern Province
of Saudi Arabia has the goal to develop that specific region of the country. It has vast oil fields, specifically in
the region Shaybah where Saudi Aramco has oil exploitation fields, refineries and service facilities such as
airports, roads, and auxiliary facilities. Saudi Arabia must focus on its economic development through a
diversified energy matrix, where oil and gas will continue having preponderance in the following 20 years. This
will increase the share of other renewable energy sources such as solar and Eolic. The Vision 2030 program of
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia justifies this type of projects and the excellent weather conditions of the country,
especially in the south and east provinces of the country with solar radiation higher than 2200 kWh/m2 per
year. The proposed project requires a five km2 area with a proposed location near the Shaybah airport, an
area under the control of Saudi Aramco. The previous existence of roads, air access, and 10 km near the
border with the United Arab Emirates provides the best logistics and technical conditions for the development
of the project. By the end of the project, I am planning to develop a conceptual project of a 500 MW solar farm
to be installed in Shaybah. After graduation, I will be using the results of my project in the future when I return
to Saudi Arabia. This paper will explore the improvement and development of engineering, drawings and bills
of materials, installation plan, cost calculation and return of investment, and final report revision and
