I’m trying to study for my Psychology course and I need some help to understand this question.

Theorist Paper

Compare and contrast the various approaches in lifespan development, integrating them into your own worldview.

Lifespan psychology presents many theories by various renowned psychologists each one possessing a unique view. As you will see, some are better than others, some are based on sound research, and some are based on poor sample size. Regardless of their perspective, it’s important for you, as a student, to be educated in each and be able to pick the good from each to integrate into your Christian worldview.

• Read Chapter 2 in your text.
• Write a 4-6 page paper that describes four (of your choice) of the seven major theorists and their theories that are discussed in this chapter. Choose the one that best agrees with your worldview and describe why you chose that theory.
• To achieve maximum points for content and analysis, the following elements need to be thoroughly addressed:
  • Thorough description of four theories and theorists.
  • Demonstration of understanding of each of these four theories and theorists.
  • Explanation of any relevant key elements within each theory.
  • Explanation of how this relates to or affects your own worldview.
  • Explanation of why the theory you chose was more applicable than others.
  • Provide at least two academic resources.
  • Requirements:
  • To achieve maximum points for content and analysis, the following elements need to be thoroughly addressed:
    • Thorough description of four theories and theorists.
    • Demonstration of understanding of each of these four theories and theorists. What does this mean? What it doesn’t mean is that you copy and past the nuts and bolts of these theories. There can be some information that is straight from a resource, but if there is a word or concept such as this, in order to show understanding you need to also give a little information about it noting that you understand the idea.
    • Explanation of any relevant key elements within each theory. Figure out key information and not all of it. For example in Behavioral therapy the idea is that we learn. There’s not thinking that goes on because we just learn by observation.
    • Explanation of how this relates to or affects your own worldview. How does the information and relevant points in the perspective relate to your worldview. If you have a Christian worldview, is the Behavioral approach totally compatible? The Bible teaches that we can learn by seeing what others do but it also states that we re to watch what we think.
    • Explanation of why the theory you chose was more applicable than others. You choose one of the four theories and share why it is more applicable to you.
    • Provide at least two academic resources.
