I’m studying for my Psychology class and need an explanation.

Write 150-200+ words on each question. Make certain that you think through what want to say and put your thoughts in an order that makes logical sense. Your response must include strong reasons why you are answering as you are. Just opinion and/or stream of consciousness (thoughts in whatever order they come to you,) will not be accepted.

QUESTIONS:

1. What do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of 3 of the following theories: Psychoanalytic theory? Trait theory? Behavioral theory? Humanistic theory?

2. How does social learning theory explain our celebrity-obsessed culture? How might we use psychological principles to alter this cultural phenomenon?

3. How has your perspective on your own or others’ personalities changed as a result taking this course? How will you use the information you’ve learned? (Be specific. A response of “be more accepting” is insufficient.)

4. What are your thoughts about Positive Psychology as proposed by Martin Seligman and others? If you were asked to develop a curriculum that would teach and encourage students to live a happier and more optimistic life, what would you include in it? (Make certain you define the age of the student population you will address.)
