Our group is interested in making a thrust vector control system for a model rocket engine. The system would use a gimbal (ball-bearing) mechanism, actuators, sensors, and a microcontroller to maintain guidance for a model rocket with feedback control. The systems are widely used in governmental and private space programs ,but are not widely available for smaller to mid-size engines. These systems are very important in guiding and stabilizing a rocket throughout it’s planned trajectory.
