He restrains himself by remembering the fact that they already caused him pain by shooting hundreds of tiny arrows and binding him with hundreds of strings, so that’s why he restrains himself even though he frees his one hand.

Gulliver’s practical nature is demonstrated throughout the novel “Gulliver’s Travels,” particularly in his acceptance of his condition and his ability to see things from other perspectives. One example of this can be seen in Part One, when Gulliver is captured by the Lilliputians. Despite the fact that he is much larger and stronger than they are, he does not try to use his physical power to escape.
