We can work on For all work solver | Psychology homework help

For this milestone, you will participate in a discussion in which you develop a research study design in preparation for your final research investigation and also assist your classmates in refining their own proposed study.

What research design are you proposing to address your research question? Explain your reasoning for choosing it. Why is it appropriate?

 How have you built upon the initial research design ideas you came up with in the Module Two discussion?

 What new elements are you adding to your

research design based on the Module Four Research Gap Worksheet activity?

 How will your research design be implemented?

 How will you account for any issues of ethics in your proposed research question?

FOR THE NEXT DISCUSSION RESPOND TO YOUR PEERS

In critiquing their proposed studies, consider the strengths and limitations of their proposed study. Support your critique with examples from your own analysis of research design presented in the course

Many studies have looked at the relationship of social anxiety and its relationship to negative social events. One thing is has not shown is research using individuals with a clinical diagnosis of Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) and the link to either antagonistic or non-antagonistic real life negative social events.

My research of Social Anxiety Disorder and the extent of negative social event will be conducted in a clinical setting. Using the Correlational design, the study will be conducted at an outpatient clinic and obtaining informed consent from each client and at any time a client chooses to exit the study they can.  Individuals that have been clinically diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder will be administered a series of questionnaires administered by clinical staff pertaining to each individual’s case. This research design being conducted in a controlled environment would contain any possible interference with the outcome of the study. Each individual would be in a familiar place with familiar clinical staff which would reduce their anxiety so that it does not skew the results of the research.

Are young adults that have been clinically diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder derived from either an antagonistic or non-antagonistic negative social event?

ERIN POST

The article Interventions to Mitigated Bias in Social Work Decision Making.

This article clearly stated that more studies were done on medical teams and not actual social workers. The question I had was Can psychological testing predict the level of cognitive bias a social worker has. Can that level be changed through various training?

The type of design I am proposing to address my research question is experimental. There will be two groups of social workers. Take one office of social workers and randomly divide them into two groups. One will be the experimental the other will be the control. I chose this way to better gauge the change in their cognitive bias after training program. I think we can evaluate response more effectively and efficiently in live experiments. The new elements I am adding are where the groups will be chosen from and how they will be assembled. I will put one group through several training programs. These programs will be designed to minimize the bias. One group will not be put through the program. We will survey all the case workers prior to the program on their perceptions of their clients. Then we will survey them again after the program about their clients and measure any change in degree of bias towards them. Ethically we will inform them of the experiment but only enough to let them know but not influence the surveys. We will inform them that we are running an experiment to measure training and client assessment techniques. There should be no adverse emotional or physical effects to any participants in the experiment.
