Interview Paper Due – Supports Student Learning Objectives

Prompt

Interview a parent/grandparent/aunt/uncle or peer/adult from another country about their life when they were growing up.

  • Start your paper off with a small paragraph describing the person you interviewed and why this person qualifies for this interview…age, country of origin, or anything else that would make them eligible.
  • Interview the adult with your questions and write down their responses. Include in your interview questions which address both micro- and macrosystem factors, such as economic conditions and parenting practices.
  • Develop a minimum of 5 questions to ask the adult. These questions need to be more than yes or no responses. You want to develop thought-provoking questions that involve reflection on their life. For example, you may ask what their definition of family is and what it may have looked like for them growing up, tradition/values/beliefs, education system, changes they may have observed and or experienced while growing up, why they moved if they did, what challenges do they face or have faced.
  • Compare and contrast the similarities and differences from this persons responses to that of what you experienced growing up.
  • Include a minimum of 4 paragraphs describing your experience and what you learned from the person you interviewed.

Instructions

  • The body of the paper is three or more pages.
  • 12 font, typed and double-spaced.
