Where did Pascoe conduct the research for this article?  How does this compare to the schools you attended or the community where you live now?
What does Pascoe mean by the qualification that adolescent masculinity is gendered?  Why is this significant (think about the “Eminem Exception” here)?
What role does fag discourse play in boys’ joking relationships? 
What differences does Pascoe observe about fag discourse between African American boys and white boys?
Pascoe concludes that it is insufficient for us to simply frame fag discourse as homophobic.  Why?
