Some scientists think that there are intelligent forms on other planets and messages should be sent to contact them. Other scientists think that it is a bad idea and would be dangerous. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

The universe is extremely large and there must be other forms of life somewhere in this vast space on a planet similar to Earth. While (Cohesion) some scientists consider it wise to contact these extra-terrestrial intelligent living creatures as this may bring unprecedented benefits in terms of sharing of technology, others think that this may lead to problems such as conflicts and biological disasters. I agree with the former view. (Mention the reasons supporting view 1 and view 2 using WHILE construction as a cohesive device.)

Body Paragraph 1: (Explain the reasons supporting view 1)

It may prove extremely beneficial for the humans to contact other intelligent living creatures on other planets (MENTION the idea). This may benefit both species in terms of sharing the technology as well as resources. Some scientists believe that technology sharing may help us not only solve some of the pestering issues ranging from food shortage to climate change but also save millions of dollars spent on space exploration programs such as Mars Explorer. The technology of these aliens may answer many of our unanswered and unexplored questions. Moreover, our technology may help solve some of their problems. (EXPLAIN the idea)

Body Paragraph 2: (Explain the reasons supporting view 2) 

Despite these benefits, there may be extremely adverse consequences of this contact as there may be some conflicts (MENTION the idea 1). Since both species are not aware of each other’s language and customs, there my be some miscommunication and this may lead to planet wars (EXPLAIN the idea 1). Moreover, sending messages without understanding the consequences of interaction my lead to biological disasters (MENTION the idea 2). There is a possibility that what is good and beneficial for one species may prove infectious for another. Their food, for instance, may be poisonous for humans and may contain microorganisms that may harm health of life forms on the Earth (EXPLAIN the idea 2).

Conclusion: (Conclude the essay with your opinion and some explanation of your opinion.) 

In conclusion, I believe that contacting between two species from different plants will be immensely beneficial for both species. If a contact is established, it will not only help solve some of the Earth’s problems, but also enhance our knowledge of the universe. This will help in finding new sources of energy and food on new planets, and bring inter-planet unity.
