Answer:
Let me present an answer on AFREEMENT side.
Proposed structure: The question has two elements and these are evident from the statement “Society should accept that children mature at a younger age these days and should adjust the law accordingly“. The strucute should be as follows:
Body paragraph 1: Reasons why society should embrace maturity among children. Give an example.
Bosy paragraph 2: Reasons why law should protect the rights to make decisions. Give one example.
Instead of writing a complete answer, let me write both body paragraphs. I’m sure the reader can write the introduction and conclusion after going through these pararaphs.
Body Paragraph 1: Various recent social and scientific experiments have proved that children younger than 18 years have a strong ability to make right choices. Due to influence of media, academic pressure and games, children mature at a younger age and have exposure to latest products and services that children of previous generations did not have. They are more aware of global and local developments due to influence of the internet. For instance, a Gallup poll recently revealed that children are more aware of the working and price of a computer than their parents. Consequently, they should have the rights to make an informed decision.
Body Paragraph 2: On similar lines, laws should be amended to enable these youngsters make legal decisions. Laws in almost all countries do not allow them the right to vote, which is the foundation of all modern democracies. Those who attain 15 years of age should have right to elect their representatives and play a role in shaping future of their country. For instance, many town and villages in India have formulated laws to create forums that allow children younger than 18 to elect their leaders and these leaders represent the interests of youngesters. Such experiments have been extremely successful in helping children make decisions.
