We can help with IELTS Academic Task 1 Correction: Energy Produced from Different Sources.

The charts below show changes in the proportion of the energy produced from different resources in a country in 1985 and 2003.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Answer:

The pie charts illustrate how much (there is no mention of absolute numbers) percentage of energy produced from six different sourced in a certain country in two different years in 1985 and 2003.

Overall, it is obvious when comparing both charts that there is a marked decrease in energy production (There is mention of decrease in share, not decrease in energy production) from petrol oil (Please do not change the proper nouns. They must be the same as in the question.) and nuclear powers (Rephrase: Evidently, the share of oil and nuclear power in total energy production decreased remarkably from 1983 to 2003.). In contrast, coal and natural gas showed elevation in their energy production rates share/ proportion while the share of water sources for energy didn’t change. (NOTE: When the numbers are in PERCENTAGE, express them as percentage or share or preportion. Not as absolute numbers.)

Energy resources production from the oil showed noticeable decline from nearly half (of what?) of total energy production in 1985 to just about two fifths from the total resources in 2003 (Please note the difference between RESOURCES and PRODUCTION.). On the other hand side, natural gas‘s share that was used had increased remarkedly from 13% to near quarter of all total energy sources total energy production (sources vs production.).

Nuclear power showed considerable drop sharply from 22% percent (do not use mathematical symbols) in 1985 to just 8% percent in 2004. Reciprocally, the coal energy rose dramatically from 8% in 1985 to 22% in 2003 (NOTE: You will get bands for mentioning MAIN FEATURES which are expressed through words such as sharply and dramatically.). Moreover, the country witnessed a steady percentage of use of water as a source of energy while there is minimal elevation of other sources to produce energy from just 1% percent to 4% percent.

Please keep the following points in mind:

Do not use absolute terminology in a percentage question. “Amount of energy produced” is not the same as “share of energy produced”.
Use right words to express ideas. “Energy resources” is not same as “energy production”. The first refers to a proper noun, the latter refers to a number.
Use right words to express MAIN FEATURES.
