The use of Psychotropics (other than anti-psychotics) for behavioural symptoms on people with Intellectual Disabilities

There is increasing evidence that people with intellectual disabilities are inappropriately medicines for behavioural symptoms.
Current resea

rch has tended to focus on anti-psychotics. This project is a service evaluation of medicines (other than anti-psychotics) used for behavioural symptoms in people with intellectual disabilities. The project will involve searching clinical records (both paper and electronic) to identify the medicines including doses etc, the target symptoms being treated and monitoring for efficacy and adverse events.
