Mitochondrial dysfunction has been implicated in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s Disease. The proteins ‘PINK1’ and ‘Parkin’ are involved in a key mitochondrial regulatory pathway and disruption of
this pathway could, therefore, lead to Parkinson’s Disease. Discuss the role of PINK1 and Parkin with regard to Parkinson’s Disease.
