A typed, double-spaced, syntactically, grammatically and orthographically correct, four-or-more-page paper, printed out. A standard essay, with an introduction, conclusion, and several well-developed expository paragraphs, in which assertions are defended with evidence and the evidence is accompanied by citations presented in a proper format, will be adequate. If you are not sure whether or not what you are writing is “correct” or “standard” in this sense, I advise you to consult the usual composition aids, such as the Random House Handbook or A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations.
