Qualitative, quantitative, mixed method and what is your research design name?
Below is the name of the designs;
• Quasi-experiments – this term refers to research projects that have used certain characteristics of experimental designs but haven’t fulfilled the validity requirements.
• Evaluation research – research that is evaluating elements such as policies or organisational change? Generally involves questions that question the efficacy of the changed element. E.g. if there was an evaluation study on the new smaller Pringle packets. Are the consumers happy with this new packaging?
• Cross-sectional research design – this refers to the collection of data on a sample of cases and at a single point in time, to collect a body of quant or qual data in connection with two or more variables. These are then examined to detect patterns of association.
• Case study design – the detailed analysis of a single case. This can be a single: community, school, family, organisation, person or event.
• Comparative design – the study of two contrasting cases. This design is founded on the concept that we can understand social phenomena better when contrasted against other related cases or situations.
