Rhetorical Analysis
Complete a rhetorical analysis paragraph on a visual argument
Instructions:
In Discussion 5.2, you chose an advertisement and completed a physical description of it along with identifying any logical fallacies that the creators employed.
The next step in working towards the formal essay due at the end of the unit requires you to write a paragrah consisting of a rhetorical analysis of the advertisement.
You should use the elements of rhetorical analysis you mastered in the culminating assignment from Unit 1 and read about in Chapter 4.
In addition, you want to address the elements of logic and argumentation we have been examining throughout Unit 2. The rhetorical analysis should contain as many of
the following elements as possible:
Standard Rhetorical Analysis
Audience, Purpose, Thesis
Rhetorical Appeals
Logos, Pathos, Ethos
Toulmin Argumentation
Claim, Reason, Warrant, Backing Grounds, Qualifiers, Rebuttals
Your paragraph should be no longer than 300 words.
