This part is in response to a fellow student’s memo. You must “Reply to Thread” for this to count. You will need to “Add original post text” as part of your reply if you want full credit. This allows me to clearly see who you are replying to. (Click on a thread (person) to reply to, then click the “Reply to Thread” button. Click the “Add original post text” link at the bottom of the text box.)
Your reply should be in contrast to their original post- this means you need to reply to at least a different issue than what you chose. It’s best if it is a different candidate, but since I don’t know who will still be campaigning, you will need to at least pick a post with a different issue than yours.
The original post (the memo from above) identifies an issue and you are to analyze how this particular issue would (or did) play out in the Texas primary. (Yes, some parties in Texas won’t have a primary, just go with it.) Post your thoughts on how this issue could be set up to get more voters through polls, surveys and even other interest groups. In other words, build upon the original memo ensuring it is directed at Texas voters. I expect your reply to be 150-200 words, and you can reply to as many different original posts as you like. Again, there are late penalties.
Hint again: Searching news/media stories/websites would be your best way to find out what others think of the idea.

Re: Donald Trump on Gun Control
The Republican candidate Donald Trump has strong views when it comes to gun control in the Unites States. Trump is extremely pro-gun, and he can get the support that he needs for his view on guns. Trump is pro-gun for many reasons, especially to cut back on crimes involving guns.
Donald Trump believes that guns help protect people in America. Trump has his own concealed weapons permit, and he has this permit to protect himself. Trump was asked why he had his concealed weapons permit, and he responded saying, “Because I like to have myself protected”. The way to protect America from crimes involving guns is by having trained individuals who are armed, instead of people left defenseless.
A lot of people say that letting Americans own guns is causing mass shootings, but Trump believes that guns help protect people and that the true cause is mental illnesses. Trump suggests that the process to own a gun should involve a more extensive background check including a psychological evaluation. If United States government can regulate who guns are sold to, and try to keep the mentally ill people away from guns, then there should not be as many mass shootings.
Trump believes that good people that own, and know how to use their guns safely should not get their guns taken away from them. Trump answered a question about guns being taken from people by saying, “if you take the guns away from the good people, and the bad ones are going to have target practice.” Guns are powerful, and if good people have that power then they may be able to stop violence, or take action when bad people get a hold of them.
Trump’s view on gun control goes along with a few of the pro-gun groups across the United States. A few of these groups are the National Rifle Association (NRA) which Trump is a lifetime member, Gun Owners of America, and the Citizens’ Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA). There are a large number of pro-gun groups that would back Trump for his push against gun control across America. Additionally, other interest groups could be persuaded to agree with Trump’s views on gun control when they hear his reasoning behind it.
Supporting Donald Trump and his view on gun control could be very beneficial to the safety of Americans across the country. With Trump’s views on gun control could help protect the students in school, people in public places, and from the attempts of burglary or crimes in their own home from criminals. Supporting Trump for gun laws could protect the American people from harm that may come their way.
