1 PROCESS IDENTIFICATION
Describe the process you are analyzing. Describe the basic products and associated processes to
complete the product. Describe the metrics currently utilized to analyze the performance of the
system. Provide insight to the issues facing the system.
2 EFFICIENCY ANALYSIS
Analyze your process based on your understanding of lean. What are the strengths and weaknesses
of the system? How can the efficiency of the system be increased. Please provide a detailed analysis
from your understanding of lean. How would you measure this increased efficiency? What do you
think is the impact of your design on reliability?
3 RELIABILITY ANALYSIS
Analyze your process from reliability perspective based on what you have been thought. Explain the
use of time as a random variable. What are the distributions utilized to measure the reliability?
Illustrate the reliability calculations of a component.
4 COMBINE THE IDEA OF EFFICIENCY AND RELIABILITY
Based on what you did in section 2 (analysis of efficiency), and in section 3 (analysis of reliability),
combine the idea of efficiency and reliability to describe your strategy for managing and improving
the system. Illustrate the reliability calculations of the system.
