Reflection Paper 3

Purpose: To explore the role of technology in development

Directions: Reflection Paper 3 requires you to reflect on the role of technology in your life. Because we use multiple technologies every day (e.g., writing with a ballpoint pen, driving a car), let?s limit the definition of ?technology? to anything with a screen (e.g., computer, laptop, tablet, cell phone, television). To write the paper, you will first track your use of technology for a week. Please see the form my upload daily diary form . i fill this out daily diary for seven consecutive days. It can be most helpful to keep the daily diary form with you and fill it out at several time points each day (e.g., breakfast, lunch, dinner, just before bed).

After noting your use of technology for the entire week, look at your daily diaries and take a moment to reflect. What patterns do you notice? Did anything surprise you? What did you learn about your use of technology? What role does it have in your life? What is good about how you use technology, and what challenges does it present for you? How does technology influence your development (think about physical, cognitive, and socioemotional development), and is your experience consistent with the scholarly literature?

In a 3-page reflection paper, write about the experience of tracking your technology usage, as well as your reflections.

Specifics: It must include an analysis of your technology usage (e.g., identify patterns, including why those patterns are present and if your experience is consistent with the scholarly literature), a reflection on the role technology has in your life, and an analysis of how technology influences your physical, cognitive, and socioemotional development. You must also submit your daily diaries as an appendix to your paper.
