Your supervisor is concerned about risk assessment in domestic violence and suicide assessment. She asks you to prepare a brief for her, however because she is reasonable she lets you choose one of the two areas to write about.
Choose either suicide assessment or domestic violence risk assessment and prepare a 500 word brief about;
1. the incidence of domestic violence or suicide/attempted suicide in South Australia
2. what social workers need to know to be aware of the risks
3. recommendations for;
a. A minimum level of training for knowledge and skills
b. Systems that could be implemented that would assist in reducing the risk

3. Ethical Summary 500 words
Write an explanation of the AASW Code of Ethics for a general audience. Explain in your own words why;
1. there is a professional code of ethics
2. how it should be used to guide practice
3. what are the three core values and why they are important – illustrating with examples would be helpful
4. how the Code is divided into sections and why

4. Reflective writing 500 words
Choose one model of reflective writing mentioned in the reflective writing module and write a 500 word reflection about your readiness for placement

5. Supervision 500 words – Use references as required to support your argument.
In your own words explain the purpose and meaning of social work supervision for a hypothetical review on ‘Social Work Practice in Government’
You will need to argue what it is about social work that make it a useful tool for social workers and how, if implemented well, it improves practice and ensures a better service for clients and community.
