The question you are trying to answer is, “What can I do as an employer to make my employees more engaged with their work?” You will develop three policy options and evaluate them against three criteria: (1) importance, (2) cost, and (3) difficulty. High importance = 5; low cost = 5; and low difficulty = 5. The most viable option will have the highest score. From there, pick the most viable option and discuss and tease it out using the 4 elements of a finding: (1) condition–what is happening? (2) criteria–what should be happening? (3) cause–why is the condition happening? (4) effect–what will happen if we do nothing? Make sure that your recommendation will address the root cause of the problem.
