For many variables that are correlated with income/growth there are several plausible causal mechanisms capable of explaining the correlation. For this assignment, pick a variable that is
correlated with growth and describe at least two potential causal mechanisms that can explain the correlation. The mechanisms you choose should not all go in the same direction. That is, if you
choose to write about the correlation between income and health, for example, your causal mechanisms should not only be examples of how higher income causes improved health. You should include at
least on example where causality either goes in the other direction or is driven by a third factor. For the variable, you can choose something broad and abstract, like health, or some specific
measure, like life expectancy at birth.
