It talks about the ways that Palm oil disrupts wildlife and even shows what humans are doing to the forests. After doing some research on how many orangutans are killed each day due to deforestation and the general presence of humans in their natural habitats, how it leads to those in poverty to become more disadvantaged than they already are, and how the close contact with the monkeys leads to cross species contagions, I realized how big of an issue unsustainable palm oil is. Today I will hopefully convince the majority of you why it is important to buy products that have palm oil from a sustainable source by explaining how unsustainable palm oil leads to issues environmentally, socioeconomically, and genomically.
