What elements of Paz’s study of Sor Juana does Gaspar de Alba directly critique? Why?
Does Gaspar de Alba’s re-visioning of Sor Juana strengthen or weaken the image of this
revered historical figure? Explain.
Use Paz, Sor Juana’s writings, Gaspar de Alba’s novel (your primary source of analysis), and
at least FIVE credible secondary sources, to construct your analysis. At the very least, you are
arguing against Paz’s daring to supposedly “know” what Sor Juana’s desires were or were not,
bringing Paz and Gaspar de Alba into critical discussion.
