Personal information;

I am from China and I just graduated from high school, looking forward to getting into Parsons. the reason i want to go to Parsons is because the reputation of this school is fantastic. the alumni are very active in both the art and fashion world. i love business as well as art and fashion, so this major is the perfect match of my interest. the art industry in China is not as good as in America, people in America appreciate artists and i can see a lot of potential in this country, especially in NYC. My hobbies: visit galleries, get to know the history of contemporary artwork, loving street wear, fishing, and riding horse. before you do the essay please go through the website of Parsons and get to know my major.

It has an outstanding reputation, ideal location and came highly recommended by many other artistic students at my school who plan on applying. However, what really made me feel that I belong at Parsons was the artistically diverse community it has attracted and the values it preaches. I find the inclusion of all creative types at Parsons very personally reassuring. I feel that should I at some point decide that drawing is not the most fulfilling medium, I trust that I can find another medium to thrive in at this school. I am proud to say that I share many of Parson’s values. I too think that working towards a more sustainable earth is one of the most important things one can do in their life.  As someone who has volunteered to cook and serve dinner at my local homeless shelters, it makes me happy to see that Parsons students are using their education to help the many less fortunate people in New York with projects such as the Good Fill bag.
