The sources used in this paper were suppose to be from newspapers and journals of that time period. I gave tem
sites to find these sources and as stated in last sentence of instructions only sources from sites given were to be
used. Please edit paper to use only sources (4) from those sites and also the book Wounded by Emily Mayhew. I
am uploading paper that was written originally by Speedy Paper.
Instructions:
The Great War had a significant impact on those in the medical profession – from changes in training and
responsibilities to innovatiÕÉ≠†Њ†ve procedures and new developments in medical care. The text we are using
for class, Wounded by Emily Mayhew, illustrates many of these changes using personal accounts from those who
served in hospitals and aid stations during the war. In this assignment, you will write a brief paper (600 – 700
words; approximately 2­3 pages) discussing one of the changes in the medical field that occurred during WWI
using information from local newspapers and magazines. You can use the following library and online databases
to find your article: New York Times Historical News coverage from 1851 to 2009. New York State Newspapers
Provides access to 10 newspapers from Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, Westchester, Binghamton and New York

paper: Emily Mayhew’s book is based on stories found in the letters and memoires of those who served in the
medical corps during WWI. Similar accounts could be found in the local newspapers of that day. Using a selection
of newspaper articles from the WWI period, write a paper about the life and experiences of medical personnel
during the war. Some important details concerning the paper: Utilize at least four newspaper articles in writing
your paper and cite each reference properly. Please follow this rubric: Content/Information (50%) The paper
addresses the topic effectively and a clear unifying theme runs throughout.
The articles chosen as the source
material for this paper effectively support the paper’s thesis.
The paper ties together the various newspaper
reports into a clearly unified work; it is not simply a summary of several newspaper articles.
The writing
demonstrates creativity and innovation in the way major themes are addressed. Quality of Writing (30%) Ideas are
presented in an organized and coherent manner and clear transitions are made between sentences and
paragraphs.
There are no errors in spelling, grammar, or usage. References and Use of References (20%) An
appropriate style (APA, CBE, MLA, Chicago) was used in the reference list and for in­text citations.
The
references cited were sound and of a scholarly level that was appropriate for the paper.
