Introduction
Management, in a wide view, is a function consisting of interlocking activities whose major objective is the coordination of these particular activities through planning, directing, organizing and controlling to ensure that every human effort in an organization is achieved. Good management is achieved when the available resources in an organization are used in the most effective and efficient way ( Nieuwenhuizen, 2007). Management is not limited to organizations, but it is everywhere, and it has being used as an essential tool in the improvement of people lives on a personal level. Good management of activities guarantees good outcomes in both individual level and organizational level.
Technology, on the other hand, is the articulated knowledge or level of know-how which is used in the production of good and in the creation of services to satisfy the vast and dynamic human needs. Technological advancement and improvement ensure that an organization remains competitive in the provision of goods and services and that its limited resources are used in the most economical and efficient way possible (Kapur, 2005). Technology is embedded in various organizations’ techniques, procedures, processes and equipment such as factories, machines, computers, schedules, and devices.
Management of technology is an important aspect of ensuring that an organization remains viable. It enables an organization to create a competitive advantage through integrated planning, optimization, design, control and organization of technological processes, products, and services. It is a branch of management which enables the optimized use of technology for human beings welfare and advantage(Kapur, 2005). There are typical concepts which are used in advanced and properly modified technology management. The concepts include technology strategy, technology forecasting, and technology roadmap and technology projects. Technology cultivates change which is not always welcome in many institutions.

Brief History of Management
Management and management of technology date back to ancient times, though the current definition is relatively modern. The science and the art of management date back to the pre-modern period including the period of the Sumerian trade and the building of the ancient. These were the period where slaves were used to providing much of the workforce and without proper management the Sumerian trade and the building of the pyramids could not have been possible due to the relatively reluctant and unwilling workforce. Good management was fundamental in motivating and exploiting the slaves (Bryce & Wilson, 2002). Management of technology becomes much articulated during the industrial revolution period where the whole world experienced a period of scientific innovation and inventions
