In place of a final examination for this course, you will research and write on a topic in language and identity and submit a final analysis on the date the final exam is scheduled (Monday, Dec. 19). The paper is worth 35 points total (35% of your grade for the class), and you will complete it in stages. The instructions below explain each stage and how many points the work will be. If you do not follow the instructions below for each step, it is almost guaranteed that you will not receive a passing grade for what is essentially your final exam.
