Collins, Gary (2014-02-01). Christian Coaching, Second Edition: Helping Others Turn Potential into Reality (Walking with God) (p. 60). NavPress. Kindle Edition.
Your Case Study 1 thread (including the reflection) must be at least 400 words but no more than 800 words
Case Study 1: Graph of Life (Collins, 2009, p. 355)

Case Study:
* Must focus on and further the discussion on Appendix A – Graph of Life exercise.
* The focus of each Case Study should be to cover the information required in the corresponding Appendix A – the Graph of Life.
* While background information about your meeting with your client is important, the focus of each Case Study should be to cover the information required by the corresponding Appendix A.
* Specific results for your client should be provided and discussed. Please note that your Case Study should be written from the perspective of having already completed coaching sessions with your client.

Reflection: The reflection portion of your assignment is crucial to your initial Case Study. In this section you are:
* To discuss your thoughts on your Case Study as well as to discuss the tools you implemented.
* To discuss whether or not you would use the tools you implemented with your fictitious client with your real clients in the future. Why or why not? If you would implement the tools, in what circumstances would you implement them?
* Furthermore, because it is critical for a coach to understand himself or herself fully when working with clients, this section should also address your own personal completion of the corresponding appendix, with specific results and action plans.
Part 1

First, complete the Graph of Life exercise for yourself.

Hypothetical clients
Nora is a 57-year-old female who has come to you with her wrestling with what she calls her “mid-life crisis.” Just over a year ago, the divorce between herself and her husband of 30 years was finalized. Her husband had left her—stating that once the last of their four kids moved out a couple years ago he realized they had nothing in common and he was in love with another woman. Over this last year, she has been getting counseling to work through her shock and grief regarding the divorce, but now she has no idea where her life is going. She has a decent job as a beautician but has stopped attending church since the divorce process started a little over two years ago. Due to the stress and grief of the divorce, she has also steadily gained around 40–45 pounds in the last two years. She tells you she is struggling to find purpose in her life and meaning in what she is doing. Through coaching and with your help, she would like to achieve the following goals: return to her pre-divorce weight (45 lbs. lighter) and establish some purpose, meaning, and direction for her life in this new chapter.

APPENDIX A GRAPH OF LIFE
How satisfied are you with different parts of your life? Circle a number from 1 to 10 next to each of the following areas of life. If you give an item a 1, you are completely dissatisfied with that part of your life. A 10 means you are completely satisfied and couldn’t be happier with this part of life. Your overall satisfaction will change from day to day, but try to give an overall assessment of where you are at present. Skip any items that do not apply to you.

join the circles together to make a graph. When this is completed, please complete the form again, only this time put a square around the number that indicates where you would like to be if things were ideal. Once again, join the squares. What areas have the largest gaps between where you are at present and where you would like to be? These may be areas in which coaching can be beneficial.
