RECR 110 Introduction to Recreation & Leisure
Order Description
Each student will compose a paper that describes a favorite play activity (the activity chosen is man hunt) integrates this experience with one of the play theories described in class.
The student is given the freedom to discuss a childhood play experience in whichever format he/she chooses, so long as an equal amount of writing is focused on describing and integrating the selected play theory.
However, it is required to discuss how your play experience or play toy relates to the selected play theory in this three to five page paper (not including title page or references, of course).
A minimum of two periodical sources are required with one being the textbook for this course. A maximum of one reputable internet source is permitted, but not necessary. Proper annotation of references is expected.
The paper should demonstrates properly organized thoughts and assertions, as well as exhibit APA formatting, hence planning to complete this assignment earlier could provide time for your work to be reviewed at the writing center (hint, hint).
Basic APA expectations include: double spaced with Times New Roman font size of 12; one inch margins; no additional spaces between lines; pagination; running header; references; title page. Do not include an abstract.
Deductions will be made for papers less than three pages in length. Papers will be graded on the content, flow, and the relevance of sources. Also, appropriate spelling, grammar, and sentence structure are expected. Remember, effort on the two assignments leading up to the paper can eliminate most of the errors that would result in a loss of points. Papers will be accepted only in digital form via D2L. These directions as well as the grading rubric are also available on D2L.
