The first paragraph write about: Beginning at the bottom of p.638, Gardner writes about “other members of the ideal cast” for effective education. These “other players” include teachers, students, technology, and the community. Which of these do you feel is most important for a good school? The second paragraph write about: Gardner writes that “an expert is a person who really does think differently about his or her specialty” (630). In Gardner’s terms, I think he would say that an “expert” has a true “understanding” of a topic rather than being merely “information-crammed.” In what area do you feel you have, or are on the way to having, expertise? Do you think differently about the subject than non-experts? How do you think differently? This area could be in almost any field–computers, games, sports, foods, music, etc.
