o You have learned that wireless data transmission is especially vulnerable to eavesdropping. In this project, you have the opportunity to capture data traveling
between an access point and a wireless station in unencrypted form. For this project, you will need a workstation running the Windows 7 operating system. The
workstation should have a wirelessNIC, a modern Web browser, and the Wireshark packet analyzer program installed. (For instructions on installing Wireshark, see
Hands-On Project 5-1.) You should be logged on to the workstation as a user with administrator privileges.
2. Complete Project 11-3 from the book and submit a snapshot of the outcome before you exit
o In the previous project, you viewed information passing through an unencrypted wireless transmission. In this project, you will capture and glance at packets that
travel between a client and access point using encrypted transmission. For this project, you will need a Windows 7 workstation that has a wireless NIC, a modern Web
browser, and the Wireshark packet analyzer program installed. (For instructions on installing Wireshark, see Project 5-1.) You should be logged on to the Windows 7
workstation as a user with administrator privileges.
3. Complete Project 12-1 from the book and submit a snapshot of the outcome before you exit
o As a network administrator, you might be charged with selecting, installing, and maintaining a VoIP system. Before choosing a system, you will have to understand
your organization’s requirements and determine the appropriate solution. In this project, you will compare three service providers that a small organization could use
for off-site VoIP services. For this project, you will need a computer with Internet access and a modern browser. You will also need a way to record the results of
your research, whether on paper or on a computer.
4. Merge all snapshots in a single Word document before submitting.
