Assignment 1: Critique of Methods (Essay Format)
Please note that assignment 1 and 2 are linked. In this assignment, you are expected to critique (critically analyse and discuss) at least two of the strategic concepts of analysis that you will use in Assignment 2. In critiquing the two concepts of analysis, you need to discuss the usefulness, or otherwise, of applying such concepts of analysis to your chosen company, product, or industry sector.

*Further information: the two concepts of analysis refers to two strategic analysis tools. My perfessor requires us to analyze at least two tools. I choose PESTEL, SWOT, and Porter’s five forces.

Following are what my perfessor said: You need to write a critical essay on at least 2 models of analysis (the main ones are PESTEL, SWOT, Porter’s 5 forces, Concept Mapping- writing about the model’s strengths and weaknesses. You also include 2 or 3 paragraphs on the usefulness or otherwise of these 2 models in analysing your company/industry sector that you have chosen for assignment 2.

You don’t need to write assignment 2. Just analyse 3 models. Analyse their strengths and weaknesses, and 2 or 3 paragraphs on the usefulness.

Total length: 3000 words (an allowance of 10% above/below word count is allowed only)
