Operational Definition of Construct
An individual’s working memory (WM) capacities do fluctuate; not only in regards to individuals, but also within different jobs, situations and environment. According
to Cowan, Elliott, Saults, Morey, Mattox, Hismjatullina, Conway (2005), �Working memory (WM) is the set of mental processes holding limited information in a temporarily
accessible state in service of cognition” (p.1 ). There are a measurements related to the working memory. Some examples would be in, performance; payroll obligations
normally require transfer of information from one list to the payroll computer. This is considered a field of transfer from a medium (Carruthers & Espeland, 1991).
One’s working memory (WM) is usually described as the amount of information remembered within “30 seconds” following what one has learned (Baddeley, 2003). In
addition, the operational definition must center on the quantity of pairs of monetary figures (employees pay hours and the total hours worked).
